It's an insult if Luke Shaw s in the England Squad

If the image doing the round on the Internet of the England squad for the European Championships in France this summer is correct, the omission of Kyle Walker is a disappointment. Danny Rose was voted the best left-back in the league by his fellow professionals and he also doesn't make the squad. Both are said to be on the reserve list.

The image, it is said, comes from the FA website when they mistakenly posted it a few days early. We will have to wait and see whether it is a hoax or not.

the list shows Ryan Bertrand (Southampton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), Chris Smalling (Manchester United) and John Stones (Everton).

Quite frankly they are an appealing bunch. Nathaniel Clyne is a liability at right-back when we have the ball, he is easy to close down and continually just boots it up the touchline as a result. John Stones was apparently given a rocket by Hodgson and told to cut out the mistakes in his game, after which he promptly made a howler in the next international when trying to be too clever. Clearly Hodgdon's rocket meant nothing.

Gary Cahill isn't international standard, nor is Phil Jagielka, Chris Smalling was a Hodgson protege at Fulham, Luke Shaw has played just 5 Premier Lague games and hasn't played since the 12th September 2015. If he has been selected it is an insult.
