Brozović likely to stay in Italy despite agent comments

Claudio Ranieri and Mauricio Pochettino are said to be interested in 23-year-old (24 in November) Marcelo Brozović by the Italian media.

Brozović is a Croatian central midfielder who has been playing at Inter Milan in Serie A on loan for £2.25 million (€2.91m - US$3.26m) from Dynamo Zagreb. Inter have a buy option at the end of the loan spell (30 June) and it would appear that Inter are going to take that option up and give him a contract until 2019 paying Dynamo Zagreb just £3.75 million (€2.91m - US$3.26m) for him.

Italian media though is reporting that he may well end up at one of the two Premier League clubs while other reports from England suggest Chelsea are trying to buy him, other reports that Arsenal are.

his agent is trying to apply pressure on Inter to give him top wages and Inter, it would seem, want to pay him less. It is a cat and mouse game it seems and he is favourite to stay with the Italians. His agent, Miroslav Bicanic, spoke to the media as reported by FCInter1908.it.

“Marcelo is torn on this issue. He wants to play in the Champions League, but does like Inter as a club and enjoys living in Milan.
“My personal opinion is that he would stay if Inter offered him a new and improved contract, which is something he deserves, on the same level as the best players in the squad.
“So far the club has not given us the impression they want to do that, so I have to conclude Inter want to sell him.”
The fact that Inter's sporting director, Piero Ausilio, flew to London is rather irrelevant, the player is not his to sell so in this respect two and two does not make four.
