Chelsea director shoots himself in the foot

It's a bit rich Chelsea director Michael Emanelo suggesting the Tottenham youth policy is overrated, having he says only produced Harry Kane when he doesn't trust his own coaching staff to produce any players at Chelsea,

In their last match, they had only Ruben Loftus-Cheek from their youth system, Thibaut Courtois was of course developed at Atletico Madrid. Loftus-Cheek has only been involved in 10league  games this season and probably only because they have no chance of European football next season.

Hardly shouts resounding success dos it. They languish a pitiful 10th in the league after their players decided to down tools and not play for their manager.

What Emanelo fails to appreciate is that there are players coming through like Josh Onomah and that other players were bought at a tender age and developed in the first team, where had they gone to Chelsea they wouldn't have even had a game yet. harry Kane would still be in the Chelsea development squad or some minor league somewhere had he been at Chelsea, so much do they hinder the development of English players.

Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Danny Rose, Kyle Walker, Harry Kane, they are all developing because they are playing first team football, not dispatched to a weak league abroad, an abdication of responsibility you could say.

Still he is a Chelsea employee and we have seen how they treat their employees who care for the welfare of their players. How glad I am I had the superior intellect to choose Tottenham to support.
