International reaction to Dele Alli

The Sydney Morning Herald called it a Goal of the Season contender. The sensational Dele Alli strike has his name on everyone's lips with all and sundry now saying he should be starting for England. Glad they have caught up.

For me he was an England player after a few games such was the promise he was showing and the lack of anything worthwhile in an England shirt from Fabian Delph and Ross Barkley. I wrote as much not because he is a Tottenham player but because he was showing the youthfulness to try things, he wasn't afraid of the stage. Barkley hasn't produced a thing in an England shirt really, he doesn't create anything, Dele Alli comes in and bang, a tackle, a goal.

All he has done since then in enhance that view, he isn't a maybe for Euro 2016, he is an absolute certainty, injuries permitting.

Nacer Chadli, who himself scored a wonderful and had an assist, but was overshadowed: "Dele does that in training – volleys. He is always scoring nice goals. It’s not lucky."

Games taken to score 6 Premier League goals
Paul Gascoigne 25
Darren Anderton 30
David Beckham 36
Glenn Hoddle 48
Aaron Ramsey 57
Frank Lampard 59
Steven Gerrard 60

Dele Alli 21

Dele Alli has completed a nutmeg once every 159.6 minutes in the Premier League this season.

Waited all night for this goal fantastic worth the wait

Dele Alli, what a goal

the only reason they have gone over (players have flown to Barcelona for a break) is so Alli can teach Messi a few things

The Sky Sports reaction to the Dele Alli moment of magic, Phil Thompson the man in the hot seat, drew applause from fellow panelists.

There are videos of his strike all around the globe, I have seen Chinese reports and reports from Vietnam, this one is from Norway, from Nettavisen.

Hungary's most visited Internet portal, Origo, called him the English wonder kid.

CNN Indonesia said Dele Alli showed his genius.

There are moments in football that just brighten up your day and to have a player who can produce them and who cost only £5-million is certainly something to cheer about.
