The secretary general of FIFA, Jerome Valcke, has been sacked by world governing body after ethics charges were brought against him over World Cup ticket sales.
The disgraced Frenchman who tried to pretend he had done nothing wrong had been suspended since September 17th 2015. There was a scandal about the authorising of payments that any football fan could really only see in one light. It is amazing that these people think they can breach any decency standards and hide behind technicalities.
A meeting of FIFA's emergency committee has now decided to dismiss the 55-year-old deputy of Sepp blatter from the organisation and issued a statement to that effect.
"The FIFA emergency committee decided to dismiss Jerome Valcke from the position of FIFA secretary general with immediate effect. Jerome Valcke is therefore no longer the secretary general of FIFA.
"The employment relationship between FIFA and Jerome Valcke has also been terminated.
"The duties of the secretary general will continue to be assumed by the acting secretary general, Dr Markus Kattner."
