Quick look at today's fixtures

The Christmas period throws up some dodgy results and it is generally accepted that players used to ensure they had received enough yellow cards to get a suspension.

Spurs players can't afford that to happen because we have a squad who are keen to take their chance. Such is the competition for places that if you are out the side you have to fight your way back in, that generally means waiting for a chance as a substitute and making your mark.

Today we have a set of fixtures that could go either way. Stoke take on Manchester United who have lost the last two and can't score goals. In eight home games, Stoke have only scored eight goals and let in nine so unless Christmas throws something up one goal looks like deciding this.

Bottom on the table, no wins at home, just two points, only five goals scored against West Ham who sit fourth in the away table. The only downside is the Hammers haven't won in their last four away games but you would expect them to come away with a victory. I'll go against the crowd and predict a draw.

Bournemouth are 17th on home for, Crystal Palace are third on away form and are usually drawing at half time. Bournemouth games have goals, they can score and concede so both teams to score with Place coming out on top 2-1.

Chelsea verses Watford, under Mourinho you would have backed Watford who have a tight defence, they have only conceded six goals in nine games at home. Scoring is a problem so 0-0 or a Chelsea victory now some of their players are trying.

Liverpool and Leicester. Liverpool fans were euphoric with a couple of wins before mediocrity set in under Klopp. Leicester haven't lost an away game all season and both teams tend to score in their games. It is a question of who bags the winner in a 2-1 or 3-2 scoreline either way.

Manchester City are strong at home, they are top of the table on home form, it is away they are having problems. Sunderland just aren't a very good side and away from home sit bottom of the table. Only one result on the cards, simply a question of how many.

Swansea and WBA could go either way. Rondon is suspended so Pullis has to call upon Berahino who clearly doesn't want to play for the club. WBA fans were up in arms when I suggested this very scenario might happen with the striker this season, but how much effort he put in was always going to be an issue for me. Swansea have lost three and drawn two of their last five home games, WBA have scored six and conceded seven in eight away games. A tight affair that smacks of 0-0 but I have a feeling both sides will score.

Apart from our game of course and Norwich have conceded nineteen goals away from home, although in their last away game they went to Old Trafford and came away with three points. No game can be taken lightly in the Premier League but fans expect.
