Five ways our curmudgeons can improve their outlook in 2016

The club has seen hard fought for plans given the green light. There was the Olympic Stadium and the highly dubious selection process. From that moment, it is my personal view that agreement was reached to ensure Tottenham got a new stadium in Haringey and that everything would be done that could be done to ensure that happened. The Haringey vote brought that a massive step closer to reality.

This has been led by Daniel Levy, who has clearly tried to lead this club to the promised land without jeopardising our future. Asking for the removal of daniel levy is asking for the removal of the things he is putting in place, it is asking for no new stadium, no footballing strategy, no club direction and yes I question whether that is support.

“What you're supposed to do when you don't like a thing is change it. If you can't change it, change the way you think about it. Don't complain.”
― Maya AngelouWouldn't Take Nothing for My Journey Now

“Neurotics complain of their illness, but they make the most of it, and when it comes to taking it away from them they will defend it like a lioness her young.”
― Sigmund Freud

It seems to me Sigmund Freund has hit the nail on the head. Take away the anti-Levy right to complain and they will defend it like a lioness. Rationality goes out the window.

“I know it's important to do more than just complain when there's something you don't like. You need to try to do something about it, or you're nothing but a whiner.”
― Jean FerrisTwice Upon a Marigold

Life is so much better if you are happy and it is so much better for the people around you so what can be done to help the complainers be happier people?

1. They could change the way they think. Never easy and something that goes against what they want to believe. They want a cause even if it is non-existent. Only they can release themselves from it and they'll only do that when they can handle their own conscience.

2. A vent once in a while helps get it out of the system. It's the in one ear out the other approach. A vent with nothing behind it could be classed as healthy unless it isn't let go. Of course, if you are in a position where your 'vents' can influence then you have the opportunity to change things.

3. Practice yoga, it controls breathing, emotion, movement, thoughts. For some, it is not actually the yoga itself it is the peaceful control of the mind. If you moan a lot or are angry you can learn control and to put things into perspective.

4. Train yourself to be less judgemental. those with negativity leading their lives will never admit to being judgemental, but their actions don't back up their words. take our anti-Levyites, what actually have they put forward as a cohesive and sustainable strategy going forward? Nothing, not one that I have seen has ever come up with anything. Why would an organisation or individual in any sort of power take note of anyone who doesn't know how to achieve what they are complaining about they want achieved for them?

5.Find what makes you happy. You can find good in any situation if you look and want to see it just as there is beauty in every woman. It may be her hair, her eyes, her smile, it may be her caring nature, it may be a laugh, it may be her dependability or ability to bring out the happiness in others. There are a million different ways of looking at someone to find 'their' beauty, it's rather shallow to think it should all be visual.

Five ways our curmudgeons can update their outlook in 2016 and 'catch-up' with the club and the rest of us.
