Tottenham keep tabs on versatile Italian

Barcelona, Arsenal and Tottenham are all keeping tabs on 24-year-old (25 next March) Italian international Alessandro Florenzi.

At Roma since the summer of 2012, he can play anywhere down the right and in central midfield. Mauricio Pochettino likes versatile players and Florenzi has already played 8 times at right-back, 2 times on the right wing, 2 times in central midfield and 1 time on the left wing. He has also been captain chipping in with 2 goals and 2 assists.

All the talk in the press at the moment is that Barcelona are going to swoop and the assumption is that nobody else has a chance. Football is never that simple. Barcelona have him on a last of right-back targets. They like every club compile a list of players for each position. When they were searching for a centre-back they had a list of four which included Jan Vertonghen. There has been no confirmation that he is top of that list.
