Should Spurs sign N'Koulou to replace Fazio

Should Spurs sign N'Koulou to replace Fazio

Federico Fazio looks to have bee frozen out at Spurs after a poor first season overall that had good points and bad points. He was offered to WBA on the cheap t tempt them to part with Saido Berahino but when that looked unlikely we pulled the plug on the deal. This season the 28-year-old (29 next March) has only figured against Arsenal in the fourth competition, the League Cup so presumably we will be looking for a replacement in the summer.

One such option could be 25-year-old (26 next March) Marseille centre-back Nicolas N'Koulou who includes Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton, West Ham United and Lazio among his admirers. The Cameroon international can negotiate a pre-contract agreement in January as his contract at the financially troubled French club expires at the end of the season.

Marseilles have to sell players to balance the books, last season they lost several players whose contracts ended and who refused the new salary cap the club have imposed. They are a club ripe for picking and with top clubs taking an interest in him Presumably Spurs are taking note of his performances as well.
