Baldini makes enquiries for centre-back
Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have all made enquiries for Torino captain Kamil Glik. The Italian media are reporting that Franco Baldini has been making enquiries.
Glik is a 27-year-old Polish international who captains both his Italian club and his country. His is a former youth player at Real Madrid is another right footed centre-back. In Serie A last season he scored 7 goals and had 2 assists so clearly offers a threat from corners and free-kicks, an area that Tottenham need to improve on next season.
Torino president Urban Cairo is trying to tie the player down to a new deal with his currant contract running out in 2017. If he can not do so then he wants the player sold by June 30th so they have time to source a suitable replacement. This date has been conformed by Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi.
Torino are a club that have to use player sales to bring revenue into their club so players are always available for the right price, which is thought to be around £8 million (US$12.25m - AUS$6.91m - €11.19m).
