Kenneth McEvoy had a loan spell at Peterborough United and now he is set to go out on loan again to a League One side, another United, this time Colchester United.

He is in fact already training with Colchester and a deal has now been agreed between the two clubs revealed manager Tony Holmes to BBC Radio Essex.

"He's training here, and we're just waiting for the final clearance. It sometimes happens with these sorts of deals."

The only thing holding up an announcement he is joining them until the end of the season is the paperwork. At Peterborough the right sided midfielder played eight games and was recalled to Tottenham in November with the club feeling he wasn't getting enough football. It is down to the individual player to force his way into the team and prove he is worth a place during these loan spells not up to the club taking him on loan to guarantee him starts. It introduces players to the reality of football and what it will take to succeed.

After he scored his goal against MK Dons he wasn't in the squad for the next two games, then he was an unused sub, then not in the squad, then an unused sub for a further two games before getting 71 minutes as a centre forward. He was again an unused sub and then came on for 4 minutes, 8 minutes and 12 minutes in the next three games. He was an unused sub for the next two games again before getting 15 minutes. He was also an unused sub in the third round of the FA Cup and not in the squad for the Football League Trophy.

McEvoy is a 20-year-old Ireland Under 21 international who scored 1 goal, against MK Dons, in his 7 league games for Peterborough. He also played a League Cup tie against Portsmouth of League Two and has played a Premier League Under 21 league game while back at Tottenham.
