Vorm shows the right character for Spurs

Personally I don't understand why people question why Michel Vorm came to Tottenham. He was second choice at Swansea to ex Arsenal keeper Flappianski (Łukasz Fabiański) who was suspended for the Tottenham game.

Vorm shows the right character for Spurs

He wasn't going to play at Swansea so why not move to a big club and be number 2 there. An injury could occur to Hugo Lloris at any time or he could leave, there is plenty of paper speculation that he will and supporters wouldn't blame him. Vorm felt it was the right decision as he said before the Swansea game.

"A lot of things happen in football, you make decisions and only when my career is finished will I know if it was the right decision or not.
"When I left Utrecht for Swansea, people asked me why I was going there because they were going down. Well look where they are now. They are an established Premier League club. It's hard to say whether I have made the right decision or not. Only time will tell.
"Hugo is doing very well, which also makes it easier to accept than if your competitor is not doing quite so well, but for me the only thing that matters is to keep fit and make sure Hugo feels I am at his back.
"The only way I can do that is by training well and when I get the chance to play make sure I do the best I can. I think in the games I have played I have done well and I am satisfied with my work.
"I took my decision to leave and I am proud to play for Tottenham. People don't always understand the choices you make in football, but I am very happy to be here. Sometimes you need new challenges and want to see how it is at a bigger club."

I spoke recently about the two types of mindset and the research done at Stanford University. A fixed mindset limits improvement but a growth mindset that takes on challenges sees greater improvement which multiplied over time makes a huge difference.

Vorm has displayed a growth mindset by coming to Tottenham and taking on the challenge at a big club with a truly world class goalkeeper. These are the types of players Tottenham need in the squad, the more the better. In that respect he is an excellent addition to the ranks in the same way Fazio and Davies have shown the same traits.

He'll no doubt get another chance tonight to showcase his skills as Tottenham take on Newcastle United in the League Cup hoping for revenge for the stupid Premier League defeat. Hopefully the side won't be fast asleep as the were for the start of the second half of that game.
