Right let's get into the Tottenham News Shorts - Issue 41, recent news which concerns Tottenham history, Rafael van der Vaart, Fernando Torres, Blackpool, Liverpool, Stevie Gerrard, Isco and Christian Atsu.

A spot of Tottenham history to begin so on this day in 2003 Norwegian striker Steffen Iversen left White Hart Lane for Wolves on a free transfer having been with us since 1996.

Also leaving on a free transfer was German Steffen Freund who joined Bungesliga side Kaiserslautern. He had been with us since 1998 and never scored a goal. In 2012 he rejoined us as Assistant Head Coach.

On this day we have played 4 opponents from outside England; Lansi Uudenmaan Dist (Finland) W 7-2 in 1987, Shelbourne (Northern Ireland) W 3-0 in 1990, Bryne FK (Norway) L 4-0 in 1991 and Glenavon (Northern Ireland) W 1-0 in 1992.

Rafael van der Vaart has issued a come and get me plea to Harry Redknapp ay QPR through German newspaper Bild.

"At Tottenham with him I had a great season. He's a great coach, but for now there has been no contact, but in football you never say anything definitive."

QPR boss Harry Redkapp is interested and as Hamburg were relegated last season the Dutch captain could do with a move.

"He is capable of ten, twelve goals a season. I like Rafa. He is an interesting player, has class."

Great news for Premier League clubs, Fernando Torres will not be sold, however he could be loaned out if some mug is found.

Blackpool now have 11 players to be able to start the Championship season with next week but as yet have no goalkeeper!

Liverpool are continuing to behave like a lottery winner with their overspend, overspend, overspend policy. They have received £75 million and spent £89 million after throwing money at clubs just like Kenny Dalgleish did.

"We still have some positions that we want to fill within the squad so that by the end of August we have a strong group of players to go forward with," he said. "We've still got some business to do."

Will this be the last season for Steven Gerrard in a Liverpool shirt before he follows the rest to MLS for a final pay day?

"Maybe one day I would like the chance to go away from Liverpool for a short time and try something different."

Isco will possibly join a Premier League club on loan as he doesn't want to leave Real Madrid and there isn't space for him there at the moment. Tottenham are just one of the clubs monitoring the situation.

Former Tottenham target and now Chelsea player Christian Atsu is moving to Everton on loan. The 22-year-old winger has been unable to make any impression at Chelsea after his move from Porto. When will players learn they won't just walk into a team?

Wilfred Zaha's complaining tweet that Moyes didn't pick him shows how some players overrate their own ability, he couldn't even get in the Cardiff City side when on loan.
