A spot of tongue in cheek from Bruce

You can always rely on Steve Bruce for a bit of a giggle and his assessment of Daniel Levy's valuation of Jake Livermore was tongue in cheek.

A spot of tongue incheek from Bruce

Livermore has been linked to Liverpool as they look to build a squad to challenge on two fronts. Crystal Palace are not the only other club to be after him but do seem to be the ones most keen to sign him.

“I would love to keep Jake if I could, so we’ll have to see if there is a deal to be done.

“But I’m sure Daniel Levy, the Tottenham chairman, will want the Humber Bridge and the receipts that go with it for him."

Livermore had a successful loan spell at Hull City culminating in a FA Cup Final. He is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs who would like to get him on the cheap. Hull City could have arranged a deal to buy him last summer instead of taking him on loan, the £6.5 million they have been quoted seems quite reasonable.

A product of the Spurs academy Livermore is now 24 and a proven premier League performer. Being home grown he is valuable to clubs and will not doubt want regular first team football rather than returning to a Spurs bench.

Despite a new managers arrival at Tottenham Livermore is still expected to be sold this window. If Tim Sherwood pops up at a Premier League club and he is being linked with WBA at the moment then you may well see them enter the fray.

Livermore is just the sort of player he likes, one who will give you 100% for the shirt and has Premier League experience. The of course there is Harry Redknapp at QPR, he gets linked with every Spurs or ex Spurs payer.
