Man Utd's Johnny Evans interests Spurs
Johnny Evans is the latest centre-back to be linked with Tottenham who may need to buy at least 2 centre-backs this summer.
Younes Kaboul has only had one good season at Tottenham way back in 2011/12 and this season has been another disappointing one. Kaboul has had niggling injuries as you would expect but his form can not be solely put down to that.
There is no doubting his desire but his concentration has not been what it should be, that can often be down to fitness but some of the mistakes have been schoolboy stuff. The jury is still out on whether he should be awarded a contract extension but how long do you wait for another good season.
Jan Vertonghen was playing as if he wants to leave so it would be no surprise if next season we have two new centre-backs. The problem we have is that Vlad Chiriches has also been poor but getting rid of three centre-backs is surely not going to happen.

Evans is a 26 year-old Irishman who has never really nailed down a place at Manchester United. He is dependable but doesn't look as though he has the quality to develop into a top class centre-back and that is what we need.
Being homegrown he is going to be more expensive than buying a better foreign centre-back and the new manager may not have a buy British policy. It looks highly unlikely to happen.
