Paulinho bid turned down

Il Tempo have revealed that Tottenham have turned down the first bid from Roma for Brazilian Paulinho.

Paulinho bid turned down

There story claims that Roma and Tottenham have been talking for weeks about a possible transfer. Roma initially wanted to loan the player for a season with an option to purchase which was immediately rejected by Spurs.

If a move were to take place then only a sale and not a loan would be acceptable, with a loan merely reducing the players value as a year of his contract would have expired.

Roma they claim have made an offer which has been rejected and they now say they wish Paulinho to openly state he wants to move to Roma.

This all sound of so familiar, put in a low bid, then ask the player to try and force a move so he can be bought on the cheap. Roma wanted to purchase the player last summer but we beat them to the Brazilian after we assured him Gareth Bale was staying.

Rudi Garcia is believed to see him as the ideal figure in a 4-3-3 formation which is surely what we bought him for and then never played it. It seems crazy to me that we have bought players to play a system we haven't employed because if you look at the signing it's clear they are best suited to 4-3-3.

Lamela and Chadli with Soldado as an attacking three was the expected line up but two of those three for whatever reason have failed to deliver what we bought and thus we have had to play with a winger meaning a different system.

Roma will be in the Champions League next season while we may just creep into the last Europa League place. It's wait and see what Paulinho does next, we have already had one I'm unhappy at Spurs story, will we now get another.
