Don't count on a good pre-season
1 min read
With the likes of the current Champions League holders, Barcelona and Scottish giants, Celtic on our horizon, I do hope that we get modest results against them.
Can you imagine what it will do to our hopes if we thrash Barcelona and Celtic in the Wembley Cup?
All this "we're good enough for the top 4" nonsense really should stop. The truth is that we're nowhere near good enough. Even if Harry does strengthen us with "one or two players".
Let's get behind the side and hope that we can get ahead of the likes of Everton, City and Villa.
Finishing 5th this season will be the hardest feat yet. Let's just hope we're there or thereabouts.

Please do not use self-defeating circular logic.
Your line of thinking will always lead to losing, whereas the complete opposite will lead to winning.
Then the league campaign starts and we are still with our head in the clouds and show nothing of the form we were in pre-season (as did Darren Bent) hopefully we can pick up a few things from when we play Barcelona
You will not make the top 6, far less the top four and to express that opinion is ".... self defeating"?
As if somehow, there is a relationship between the expression of an opinion today and the results on the field months from now.
Now that is circular logic.
Are you the Master Of Complicated Wording At The Unversity Of Difficultly Wording by any chance?
Nice piece as usual on here.
Perhaps 'Anon' you might giving it some thought next time before u get orl convoluted on our wordsmithing ass, n*gger.

I'd take a solid start to the season over a stellar pre-season any day.
