Ramos to make a move for Italian International Midfielder

Milanese newspaper, Libertà, has today stated that Tottenham Hotspur manager, Juande Ramos, is strongly considering a move for A.C. Milan's holding midfielder, Gennaro Gattuso.

Spurs have had their scouts watch the midfielder on more than one occasion in the last 40 days according to the paper.

Ringhio, as he is called by his teammates, has stated that he wants to see out his career at the Milan club. However, after a lacklustre season, the Rossoneri are said to be looking at letting a few of their older players leave this summer, with Gattuso's name amongst the list of players that are set to depart.

Gattuso is contracted till the 2010/2011 season and it is believed that Milan will listen to offers in the region of €10 million (approximately £8 million).

This news has alerted Spurs, as well as Bayern Munich. Bayern are believed to have offered Gattuso a massive contract, although sources close to the player have stated that if he were to leave Serie A, he would prefer a move to the Premiership, and especially London.

Tottenham's capture of Luka Modric has proved to be quite significant on the continent. The move has shown that Spurs have the ambition and the funds needed to compete at the highest level.

Ramos is a fan of Gattuso and also understands the need for the club to buy a defensive midfielder. Spurs leaked too many goals for the Spaniards liking this season and may look to the Italian powerful ball-winning midfielder as a solution.

I think he would be brilliant in the Premiership! He played in Scotland not so long ago and played really well.

8 million is nothing for him.

He's a class act, but I can't see him joining us. I heard about Bayern Munich offering him something like 120k per week. We can't compete with that.

Great player, and I am confident he'll sign for us. After all, Modrich did, and a lot of bigger clubs wanted him.

It's rubbish if you ask me

Anonymous said...

Why would he want to sign for Spurs? You lot are the Newcastle of the South.

Long live A Wenger!!!

Anonymous said...

Ive heard that he will sign for us and that it has been Ramos that has done all the work. Comolli did nothing on the Modric deal, it was all Ramos. Why do we need that Arsenal loving twit?

Waste of money. THe prem is a much faster league than the italian league and he'll tire out much quicker.

Davids was ok for about 6 months, but after that he was nackered.

If he cost 2 or 3 mil, then id say he was worth it, but not more than that.

Piss off back to your scum hole you perverted arsenal twat!

First Eto, now Gatuso.....when will you spuds realise that the newspapers probably make more money from selling in the close season than they do all the season because spuds fans are linked with ever player?

Wake up!

Anonymous said...

When will you wake up and realise now we have a manager that will be able to get a few of these big names and as we will spend our money we get linked ,you on the other hand do not because you won't buy anyone! now crawl back under your stone sewer rat

I wish people would lay off Comolli. How do you know Ramos done all the work for Modric? it was reported that Comolli scouted and then started negotiations with Modric. Modric then spoke to Levy to tell him about the plans for a new ground and where the club were heading he also spoke to Ramos who told him what his aims were and that clinched the deal.

do you really think Ramos has the time to be in charge of scouting all across the world for players while running the first team and all the training etc... no. comolli finds the players then offers them to Ramos who has the final say. The DOF is an important role and we'v improved the last 3 or 4 years since we've had one Arnesen and comolli.

And I for one, think most of our reicent signings have been good -Woodgate (who like modric was offered more money elsewhere but was convinced to sign for spurs) for example, and if they haven't made the cut we haven't lost money on selling them on. in fact we've made profit.

anyone agree?

lol the scum will absolutely shit a brick if we get a couple of these players and under ramos its more possible than ever!check his cv trophys coming out of his ears, already got one in england and only been here 5mins!thats a pull to a player and he's thought of more in europe than here(for now) just look at modric i actually truly thought he'd end up at the goons, one of the hottest young talents in europe both footed a real wenger type player, but coz of ramos along he comes n we got our very own fibreglass sorry fabregas

hey anon @ 2:28PM don't you think you should be checking out your own potential transfer news rather than hovering around where you don't belong.............bit like your manager.......ahem.
Why shouldn't we compete for the best players, all the top teams have to start somewhere. Your insecurities scream out on here!

It never ceases to amaze me how many people who obviously support other clubs log onto Spurs web/blogsites. Haven't they got their own? Are their lives so sad that they have to leave stupid comments on blogsites like this one? I guess care in the community isn't working.

Sad arsenal fans - what no one walked out today, nothing to look at on the arseface.com webpage?

Gattuso wuld be good but Poulsen would be even better, then Comolli should jump on a plane fly to italy and wrap up Seb Frey!!

What are peoples thoughts on the Eto'o rumours? i could be a huge waste of money or a brilliant signing? will he be able to play with robbie, he plays like defoe should and robbie has had better partners upfront.

He would be good for Spurs but only if we got him cheap. I see no reason why he would not come. He is no longer young. Spurs could do with him. Like Davids, he has a winning mentality and toughness that we have definitely lacked.

Well said 2.47pm. I totally agree with your comment.

I think Zakora has been one of the most improved players since he came back from African Cup of Nations and think he'll continue to improve. Money could do better spent elsewhere, centre back, striker.

As for Eto that aint going to happen either, too much in salary plus don't think eufa cup has quite the same draw!

gatusso would be good and is possible imo his age isn't a prob either as he could just sit in front of the back 4 like a brick wall with modric pulling the strings in front of him

David Villa doesn't want to join us :(

Apparently we've matched the 21 million euro Valencia want for him, but he said that he wants to go to Chelsea.

They'll probably get him also, now that its clear that Drogba is on his way out.

athough villa is good woulda been to small to play with keane

leave the Arsenal fans alone on here. Its been a year where they see players looking to leave, win nothing and no one looking to come in, although I have heard of an Afghan striker nickamed the Kabul Kangaroo so I am sure Wenger will put an offer in soon.

There is real feeling at the Emirates that they are becoming the new Tottenham of North London. If only they could go the same way as Leeds.

we r not the newcastle of the south because we have silverware!!

Look arsenal fans you can look but you can't touch!! You may say its the mickey mouse cup but it is one more cup than you have had in the last few years, you lot are sh*te you thought you would win the league, DIDNT HAPPEN!!!

You thoght you would win the champions league, FA cup and leaque cup, DIDNT HAPPEN!!

You are not comparable because you are the only team this SEASON who DERBY have scored 2 against in 1 match!!

Congrats!!

BTW Gattuso would be a good signing!!

I'm an Arsenal fan, but more importantly, a fan of football. I live approximately 5 minutes from White Hart Lane and have a lot of mates that are Spurs fans.

I take my hat off to Spurs. They are showing real ambition and I do think that you'll sign players like Gattuso.

Modric is a brilliant player, although he will be wasted on the wings.

I think that you lot will challenge the top 4 if you sign a few more quality players.

Matt, London;
Gattuso is a nastier, angrier Davids... and that's saying something! He'd be a perfect signing, and someone to keep Jenas or THudd on their toes...
I don't concur with this 'players only want to join the Big 4' theory... if a player (let's say Luka Modric for example) gets a 'good feeling' for a club heading in the right direction (not to mention more guaranteed playing time...) then why wouldn't he sign? Spurs, lest we forget, are still a big fat famous club, in Europe (alright, not THE Europe that everyone seems to want) but in there none the less... I can see two or three more players of this ilk being lured to N17... and I hear Hleb is feeling dissalusioned down the road, now wouldn't THAT be a coup?

Anonymous said...

Gattuso would be the first choice for a holding midfielder. IF he signs, then what a coup it would be.

On a second note, i do not agree with people saying the top players want to play in the Champ League. They have been there, and won that, and they will be desperate to play in the EPL. Its much tougher than the CL.

Gutuso is exactly what we need plus Diego Capel on the left, Sell Berbatov & get in Eto & perhaps Crouch to make up a Awesome Foursome to choose from upfront, Cuellar from Rangers plus Ben Haim from Chelski to sort the Defence out. Ferrero Roche & the Constant Gardner can do the off along with Y.P & The goalies. WE NEED 2 GOALKEEPERS!!

You should change to one of them style blogs where you can post all on one page, wordpress is it?, you'd then have loads of people, like push and run does

The mighty yids have made a brilliant start in the market by signing modric and ive read a few peoples comments and its true i think there will be a few more quality signings on their way to whl

I have a mate who works at spurs so i know pretty much most things happening at the lane as he speaks to tommy huddlestone.

so here we go:

DAVID VILLA: looks set to sign for real madrid as valencia are in cash crisis and need to sell players to get their finances back on track.

SAMUEL ETO'O: Damian Commoli flew over to spain on wednesday to tie up a deal for eto'o but barca want £30m so no offer was made but comolli, levy and ramos are going to sit down and discuss a price figure which will be around £26m and some other alternative players.

DIEGO CAPEL: this looks to be a definate signing as he only has 2years left on his contract at sevilla and he is keen to link back up with ramos who helped him develop as a player. he has a £11.5m release clause in his contract but i think ramos will offer £8-£9m.

DAVID BENTLEY: his name has not really been brought up to often but i use to know bentley from his time in cheshunt, hertfordshire when he played for arsenal but he wernt known too well then, but one thing i know is that he has alot of family in london so its a possibilty he might come back down south if we can offer something in the region of £15m to tempt blackburn.

MIGUEL VELOSO: decent defensive midfielder for sporting lisbon. he wont be at spurs next year as sporting want £30m for him and ramos wont pay that much for him.

GENNARO GUTTUSO: hes said that he wants to end his career in italy and he loves playing for AC Milan, sorry to break it to you but this aint happening im afraid.

SERGIO GARCIA: real zarragoza will accept no less than £15m for their key striker. garcia is thier berbatov and is regarded as a rising star and still as young as 24. this is more than likely to happen.

MICHEAL JOHNSON: he wont be heading for spurs as hes said he wants to play 1st team football so he wants to go somewhere where he will start games or stay at man city. basically he wont start if we got modric and there will be a few more players coming aswell.

JERMAINE PENNANT: this is speculation because ramos will not sign pennant as he is basically a slower version of lennon and lennon is gone at the end of the year.

FRED: this brazillian strikers name has been brought up alot so my friend say and its understood ramos is very keen to capture him as he is a good target man and is a brilliant finisher. lyon wont sell him for cheap tho.

PETER CROUCH: not gona happen because liverpool are holding out for £15m and we all know that he is not worth that atal so no deal!

LASSANA DIARRA: hes said he wants to join spurs as he doesent see himself having a sucessfull career at pompy regardless to their FA Cup sucess. prefers london than the south coast and ramos wanted him before and will probably make a move again.

URBY EMANUELSON: brilliant left back from ajax. spurs tried to nab him in january but ajax were having none of it but i understand ramos will go back with an improved bid once the window opens again next month.

JERRY GOSLING: 17 year old right back from grays athletic. hes suppose to be a decent little player with alot of pace. gosling is also a friend of tom huddlestone who actually put his name forward to comolli who then went and watched him play an U18 game. he is also the cousin to dan gosling who plays for everton.

ANTON FERDINAND: a bid of £8m has already been offered and now just awaiting west hams response.

MARK SUMMERS: hes only 18 and plays his football for southend fc and is an attacking midfielder. he came through the ranks only a few weeks ago and has scored 7 goals in3 appearances for the reserves. made his 1st team debut and scored 2 from attacking midfield. spurs are going to offer in the region of £1.5m once the window opens.

they are all the names ive been told about.

here are all the players leaving spurs and where they are going or possibly going:

KABOUL: juventus, yep
GARDNER: west ham, maybe
ROBINSON: middlesbro, maybe
BERBATOV: real madrid, maybe
DAWSON: portsmouth, maybe
CERNY: qpr, yep
L Y PYO: psv, maybe
ROCHA: fc porto, yep
TAARABT: west brom, loan, maybe
CHIMBONDA: aston villa, yep

by the start next season gareth bale will be back to full fitness

p.s. berbatov aint going manchester united because they want huntelaar from ajax instead
