Spurs in Cyprus

By Costas Georgiou

Martin Jol's Spurs squad will be training today at the Antonis Papadopoulos stadium (home of Anorthosis Famagusta) from 9am local time till 11am (7am - 9am British Summer Time).

Any fans wanting to watch the players go through their paces can do so free of charge. Most of the players signed autographs for the fans and Martin Jol was extremely pleasant at yesterday's evening training session.

The noticeable absentees were Dimitar Berbatov, Jermaine Jenas, and Aaron Lennon.

The Spurs squad are staying at the Hilton in Nicosia, where they will not be returning after training. Instead, they will remain in Larnaca and prepare for the game.

Darren Bent and Jermain Defoe should start up front for Spurs today against Anorthosis.

Kick-Off 5.45pm local time (3.45pm British Summer Time)

I was at the training session last night and can confirm that all the players and staff were absolutely fantastic. Players signed autographs after the session and posed for photos. My 12 year old son was chuffed to bits when Jermain Defoe shook his hand. Robbo even held the Cyprus spurs flag aloft for a photo... but then he proceeded to drop it!!( Sorry Robbo, We luv ya really)

Who believes the conspiracy theories that Dimitar Berbatov will not play in Europe and until January when he will be sold. Not playing him stops him becoming cup tied and his value high. This theory comes from someone close the board. Personally don't belive but who knows!!!!

What a load of absolute rubbish!!!

Spurs travelled to Cypros today, so I hardly think they trained on the island last night, do you?

I think you'll find that you are the one that is completely mistaken.

Spurs arrived in Cyprus yesterday (03.10.2007) on a noon flight from Stanstead airport.
