News surrounding the impending Riquelme transfer to Tottenham Hotspur has sparked rumours that the player is sought by Juande Ramos and not Martin Jol.
Spurs Director of Football, Damien Comolli, recently in the spotlight after convincing several board members that Jol isn't the man to lead Spurs into a Champions League spot and beyond, has been speaking to the Argentine's representative, Marcos Franchi, about bringing the world-class playmaker to White Hart Lane.
Other media sources have claimed that the player isn't on a wanted list by Jol, but is wanted by Sevilla manager, Ramos, the man tipped to take over at Spurs within the next two weeks.
Ramos had tried to sign him on two previous occasions; once in the close season of 2006/2007 and again this season. Sevilla club president, José María del Nido, pulled out of the deal at the last minute, stating that the player wanted far too much.
Is Ramos already trying to sign players for Spurs before evening signing himself?

We are fans of Jol, just like the majority of you.
We do have a duty to write what we are given though. If this rumour is true that Ramos is trying to sign Riquelme before even arriving at the club himself then all we can say is that the board need to learn how to behave properly...and learn fast.

I don't care who is trying to sign him. All I care is that he's a world-class player and will shine in our team and bring us much needed experience!
We're entering into an important 4 games (incl Man U & Arsenal). How can Jol be expected to prepare sufficiently with all this media speculation. Come on Jol - show the board you're bigger them by acting professionally and bringing in the points!
Riquelme is a big favorite of mine, I would really love him to sign. Hopefully all this disturbance will cause the players to bounce back on saturday. United are desperate and Ferguson will probably do anything to destabilize Tottenham before this game, perhaps he will be suprised.

The end of the day jol has only won once against top 4 managers in his time here. how are you going to get in the top if you cant do that.
we where lucky last season to finish 5th and the way we played against arsenal last season was a sackable display..

Why have Tottenham gone silent there often come out and deny transfers why are they not publicly saying Jol will be here for the remainder of the his contact or sack him and be done with it, which would be a disgrace in my book
Ramos why? how is he better than Jol Yes Seville finished 4th last season well so did everton in engalnd a few years ago and finished half way down the league the next year the Uefa cup is a strong competition middlesbough got to the final 2 years ago and we won a record number of games in a row last year not to mention he can't speak english

Juande Ramos blew the La Liga Title last year despite Barcelona and Rel Madrid having weak seasons.

Does anybody else think this could be the typical British media building people up only to knock them down. We have got off to a bad start after all the hype so the media put all this unsettling information about the club out and before you know it we loose our next 6 games and we are once again the great underachievers?
Don't you think that if we sign Riquelme, it would help us massively?

Makes me laugh are all the different storys you come up with, then you start moulding one story to the other. I heard whisper about riquelme before Ramos story even popped up. (I agree there could be a link but you lot know us much as i do). You grab one story and just add it to another

Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov has not fallen out with boss Martin Jol, according to the player's agent.
Reports on Tuesday suggested Jol wanted to sell Berbatov, who had reacted angrily after being substituted during Spurs' 1-0 defeat at Sunderland.
"One thing I can tell you for sure is that there is not a problem between Martin Jol and Dimitar," Emil Dantchev told BBC Sport.
"They have discussed the football situation but that is normal."

You should put the petition up as a story on it's own (if you haven't already, and again if you have) so people who appreciate what Jol has done for the club can have a chance to the sign this.
As for those that do want him sacked. What the F*** are you on? sorry about the language, it's just my level of frustration at the moment is through the roof. No mqatter who takes over it will take years to break the top 4, they all have a 10 yr headstart on us, except Chelsea who have a few Billion ££££. Just becasue we spent loads, we can't attract the quality that Arsenal can, because we can only offer a UEFA Cup run. no matter who takes over that won't change. Jol said at the start he had a 5 yr plan to make us a top 4 team, and when he said that I nearly choked on my Cornflakes... ven then I thought if he does in 5 yrs he's a miraclwe worker.. he nearly done the next bloody season, we've, on average, finished 4 1/2 point behind Arsenal in the last 2 yrs... What a turn around.
Next point... He's not the man to take us any further???? Why? How do you know that without letting him try, why were we all so happy to give him 5 yrs to do it when he took over but now we expect it now? People that question his subs... you can't, simple. You, in comparison no f*** all about football! I don't understand half the stuff Mourinho does, but it works, and to say it doesn't for Jol is ridiculous... perfect example is (and this also explains why fans of other clubs think we're c***s, because most of us are, even I think it now) Jol played Keane left wing against Chelsea, he tore them to bits, we one for the first time that I can remember (in the league)... the next week he used that formation against reading, it didn't work, he tried to change it but it was too late, these sites were full of people slating his tactics!!! They were happy with the same tactics 3 days before though... We all know nothing about football, we don't know what he's asked the players... as fans you look too deeply into things you really have no understanding of. Let's look at things we do understand... Jol takes over, we just miss oput on Europe, next season we do badly in the cups, but finish 5th (first time we've qualified for Europe via the league in 20yrs), next season, 2 cup quarter finals, 1 semi final, and 5th again (the second time in 20 yrs we've qualified for Europe via the league) is that not progress in every season he's been with us? So why do you find it so hard to believe he can progress again... and let me tell you something, a team doesn't do well IN SPITE of the manager, if a team is badly managed , it does badly.. simple!
