Spurs are known for late plunges into the transfer market just before the window closes, so will there be any late surprises this time round?
It's known that Martin Jol has asked for another centre back and a left winger. Curtis Davies looks to be on his way to Villa, which I find strange as he's said he would only sign for a London club as he misses the capital.
Martin Jol is a keen admirer of Blackburn's winger, Pedersen, but Mark Hughes has rebuffed all attempts by Spurs.
I hate to bring this up again, but could the lack of any new faces mean the end of Martin Jol? If a new manager is lined up to take over at the end of the season, surely he would want his own players and not his predecessors.
Watch this space for West Brom's centre back, Curtis Davies, Blackburn's left wing king, Morten Gamst Pedersen, Pompey's Matthew Taylor and the departures of Defoe, to either Manchester United, Portsmouth, Aston Villa or Chelsea, with Murphy going to either Derby, Sunderland, Birmingham or Fulham and Ghaly probably going to Middlebrough.

Any new signings?

I thought the same thing that you said. If Jol doesn't get us to 5th or higher this season, I think he'll be sacked.
I dont know who will come in if Jol is sacked, but i am sure that he'll want his own players in and not players signed by Jol.
Why are we after Davies? The guy won't get a game when King, Kabol and Daws are back
Murphy is apparantly on 20k p/w so getting rid of him would be great.
He's been such a flop
Can't we add our legend, Jenas to the list of departures???
He's rubbish. The thing is, no one will take him off our hands.
We wont sign anyone else as the board wont allow it. Even though they have said that Martin is their man, they know that he'll be gone before xmas.
Then they can bring in another manager and allow him to bring in players during the next window.
It looks as though Ghaly won't ever play for us again.
I hope Jenas doesn't either, but you don't get what you wish for unfortunately.
Oh i hope Defoe doesn't go anywhere! He's such a great player and deserves his place in the side.
I actually think that he's a better player than Bent. All he needs is the chance to show Jol what he can do.
Defoe, please don't leave!
Of course Jenas will be on the list of departures, having signed a new 5 year contract yesterday.
We are currently editing an article as regards Jermain Defoe.
Regards
What's the point of saying Murphy is useless, He's never had a run in the side, so in truth has never shown us what he was capable of doing. Same as Jenas, how many of you who continually criticise him where cheering after that goal against Derby, For once in your lives stop moaning and be more proactive, but than again as Spurs fans thats all we ever do moan moan moan.
If indeed there was to be a new manager, why did we get Jenas to sign a contract til 2012??? BMJ is his biggest fan.
Murphy won't go to Sunderland, Roy Keane has rebuffed his 20k pw wage demands. I keep my fingers crossed he's going somewhere, preferably by midnight tomorrow.
Posh, are you editing an article that says Defoe to stay? Seems likely. We just gave Crewe a backup striker til Jan in Barnard. Who would be our 4th striker? Pekhart? Are we signing someone?
If we are after Davies, that would be nice, despite seemingly off to Villa. I'm praying the Ledley's career over rumours from last season aren't true, but no smoke without fire (or repeated injuries) it would seem. Will he ever come back is the question. Can't rely on him at the moment, hence the need for a back-up.
And Pedersen again? That must by why Mark Hughes is sniffing round the mighty Tom Hudd. We should not sell, or swap him for Ped. However I would have gone for Defoe for SWP even if it does seem likely a load of BS.
I am not editing anything. Jaymes is the author of the article and he's getting it ready now.
Regards
The only signings i want are Defoe on a new 5 year contract and Beba on a new 8 year contract with no get out clauses
Am I the only person that can't understand why we would try to sign a Championship player (Davies) for 8 million, when we've already got King, Dawson, Kaboul and Rocha?
Can anyone explain this to me please?
I also couldn't understand why we signed Bent when it was clear he wouldn't get a game with Keano and Berbatov in the side.
Anyone care to explain why our amazing manager is always after players that we've already got an abundance of?
Posh, you said "We" - meaning the collective.
I said "You" as in the collective you...
I'd stick the kettle on again if I were you. I think Jaymes wants a cup of tea... :-)
And I didn't for one minute expect you to reveal someone elses "scoop" before you (that would be the collective "you") post it. Just predicting the content of said future article. As long as he doesn't end up doing a Sol, that's the only thing I'm concerned about.
I do not care who is transferred in or out. I do not even care who plays, is on the bench or in the reserves. I am not going to watch another Spurs match until we win three Premiership games on the trot.
Are you an Arsenal fan?
No, a Spurs fan since 1959. It's about time we put a decent run of wins together. That requires a stable group of players; midfielders who can supply a quality cross and forwards who can trust the supply source. And the hunger to chase a potential rebound.
There's an article on Spurs website entitled 'Fancy becomming a coach'.....how very apt?
How does a football fan become "proactive"? Strange comment to make as a supposed insult to someone who lamented JJ's quite obvious lack of any usefull qualities whatsoever (passing, tackling, inteligent running, inteligence, grit, determination, strength).
You are suggesting we boo JJ everytime he steps on the pitch or to stop buying merchandice until he leaves?
