Figo to Spurs?

Tottenham, Middlesbrough and Newcastle are heading the chase to sign Real Madrid's disgruntled galactico Luis Figo.

The 32-year-old Portuguese winger looks certain to leave the Bernabeu after five years this summer. Figo has fallen out with Real coach Wanderley Luxemburgo and there appears to be no way back for the former Fifa World Footballer of the Year.

However, while Figo's talents may be on the wane, he remains a supremely gifted midfielder and his signing would be sure to shift plenty of season tickets at Spurs. Figo has often left the door open for a switch to the Spurs and the Premiership, saying recently: "I have always had a desire to play in England."

It would be a dream for me but there are no offers at the moment."

I have a strong feeling that a deal will be done in the very near future. All the signs are there. He has a house in London and his childhood team were Tottenham.
